Easy Biscuits
I was craving something sweet and buttery. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’ve been thinking about treats that are not only delicious but also super easy to whip up.
Today, I’m sharing my favorite recipe for Easy Homemade Biscuits. What I love about these is how versatile they are; you can make them into any shape you like! Whether you’re a seasoned baker or just starting your cooking adventure, these are the perfect “fix” for your sweet tooth.

Super Easy Recipe
This recipe is so easy, with simple ingredients and you need only a hand whisk. The icing sugar dissolves easily in the butter as you whisk away. Of course, you can use an electric mixer if you want, especially if you’re making a huge batch.
No icing sugar at home?
Here’s the easy hack. Grab your normal white granulated sugar and toss it in your grinder and pulse a few times. IT will turn powdery. Just a note, if you grinded any spices prior to this, you might want to wash the grinder and dry it well first.
Add some colour
You can even add some food colouring for extra cuteness. If you do that, just swap the custard powder for cornflour. I suggest adding the liquid food colouring, a tiny droplet in the butter/sugar mix at at a time. Then you can gradually build up the colour until perfect. In this 2026 batch, I wanted a light pink. You’ll also notice that I did a small marbre effect on some of these cookies. I combine the coloured dough and the plain dough. Watch the video to on TikTok to see how I did it.

Prepare in advance by freezing the dough
Best part, you can actually freeze the dough. Cling it and put it in a zip bag and you can store it in the freezer for up to 2 months. Then, you just have to bring it to room temperature when you want to bake.

The Recipe
Easy Biscuits
Ingredients
- 125 G Butter
- 115 G Plain Flour
- 50 G Custard Powder or Corn Flour (Maizena) if using food colouring
- 45 G Icing Sugar
Instructions
- Whisk the butter until softened.
- Add in the icing sugar. If you want to add food colouring, you can do it at this stage. Just do it droplet by droplet until you get the right colour.
- Mix in the flour and corn flour in 2 parts. Half the flour and corn flour and mix. Then add the remaining part. If the dough is a little sticky, add a little bit of flour and corn flour. Form a ball.
- If you're making this in summer, I suggest putiing it in the fridge to chill for some 15 minutes before baking.
- Shape the biscuits: You can use a cookie cutter or you can use your hands, forming little balls and pressing them down with a fork.
- Place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with a baking sheet. Bake at 160C for 12 minutes in a preheated oven.
