The China Town Food Festival

This Sunday, we went for a quick visit to the 15th edition of the China Town Food Festival in Mauritius. This event is promoted by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and showcases Chinese cuisine and culture.

Port-Louis was the place to be this weekend and despite the humidity, the crowd was there. It was time to sample Chinese delicacies and enjoy a good show. Walking down La Rue Royal was different; festive. It reminded me a little of my previous trip to Hong Kong when I have been strolling in the older part of the city.

We arrived just in time to watch the start of Little Miss China, a contest featuring talented young girls. After enjoying the show, we visited the different stalls. From the famous mine frit, boulettes to pastries like red bean teosa.

We couldn’t stay long but we made sure to click a few pictures and we left with plenty of ideas for new cooking adventures!
