Summer Smoothie

I love summer in the tropics but sometimes I just can’t bear the heat and the burning sun!  Here’s how I cope with it; by sipping a refreshing and nutritious homemade smoothie!!! It’s pretty simple.  You just need a knife and a blender to get going!

Ingredients for 5 tall glasses:

  • 1 Pineapple
  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1 Carrot
  • 2 Apples
  • 2 Tablespoon oats
  • 3 glasses of water

Preparation:

  1. Chop all your fruits into cubes.
  2. Put the fruits and vegetables, along with the oats in your blender with 1 glass of water.  Blend for a few seconds. *
  3. Add the remaining water and blend again.
  4. Pour into jars or glasses and store in the fridge.  You may also serve immediately with some ice cubes.

*If  you’re worried about the taste, you can add some honey or sugar.  My personal trick is to add a little bit of peanut butter before blending everything.  It works great!  You can find the recipe for homemade peanut butter: HERE
