Oat Waffles

Hi Foodies! How’s your week going? How was the weekend? Did you do anything fun?

Today I’m going to share my foolproof oat waffles recipe. Not only are they filling but they’re very delicious. These waffles are crunchy and crispy and take just a few minutes to make.

If you don’t have a waffle iron, you can use the same batter for tasty pancakes.

I usually top these waffles with some bananas, a drizzle of peanut butter and sometimes some honey.

If you’re looking for a healthy yet tasty breakfast, these oat waffles are just what you need.

How do you like your waffles?

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of oats
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Cinnamon powder (add according to your taste)
  • 3/4 Cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter or oil.  (I used grape seed oil for this)
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Preparation:

  1. Grind your oats till it forms a powder
  2. In a bowl, mix all your dry ingredients
  3. Add the milk, butter/oil, eggs and vanilla extract and mix well together
  4. leave your batter to rest for 10 minutes.  You may need to add more milk if you feel that the batter is way too thick.
  5. heat your waffle iron and pour a spoon full of batter on the centre of your heated waffle iron and close the lid.  When your waffle turns golden brown and crisp, its ready.  Transfer it to a cooling rack.
  6. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
  7. If you love your waffles hot, you can keep them in your oven while you prepare the rest.
  8. your waffles are now ready.  You can eat it with your favourite toppings or plain.
