Mango Sherbet

Hi Foodies! How are you doing this week? Are you getting ready for Christmas? How will you be spending the holidays? Here, we’re having a tropical Christmas. Since we have all been busy these past 2 months, it’s the occasion to enjoy some family time together.

This Christmas, I’m reintroducing an old recipe of mine that is so easy to make. In fact, it appeared on 5-plus dimanche 2 weeks ago. This is a budget friendly recipe which doesn’t require too many ingredients.

This mango sherbet is my current favorite go to recipe when I’m looking for a delicious recipe that won’t require too much effort. I think the only thing that requires some time is peeling and chopping the mangoes.

Mango Sherbet

This is also the kind of dessert that will save you a lot of time and will still look like you put a lot of work into making it. You can serve it with other toppings such as nuts, grated coconuts, fresh fruits or any topping of your choice.

Anyways, let’s get to it. You will also find a quick and fun video of this sherbert on Instagram.

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups chopped fresh Mangoes
  • 1/4 Cup powdered sugar (optional)
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice

Preparation

  1. Freeze your chopped fresh mangoes for 1 hour
  2. Using a blender, blend your mangoes until very creamy and smooth. Depending on your blender, it can take 5 minutes or a little more.
  3. Add the sugar and blend again for a minute. Sugar gives a smoother texture to your ice cream
  4. Add the lemon juice and blend for 1 minute.
  5. Transfer in a container that goes well in your freezer and freeze for 2 hours. I like to use a large container as it is easier to whip directly in it. You can also form ice cream balls easier when the container is larger.
  6. After 2 hours, take it out of the freezer and blend for 3 to 4 minutes. You can either put it in a blender or use an electric whip for this.
  7. Place back in the container and freeze for a minimum 4 hours but the best is overnight.
  8. To serve your ice cream, place your ice cream scooper in hot water before making the balls. It gives you a nearly perfect scoop. Dip in hot water between each scoop you make.
