Cheese & Olive Scones
These scones are very filling and are perfect either for breakfast or even for a picnic. You can use them to make little sandwiches and add your favorite garnish! The Cheese/Olive combo is just perfect.
Ingredients:
- 250g multigrain/atta flour
- 250g all purpose flour
- 3 1/2 Teaspoons baking powder
- 1 Teaspoon Mixed Herbs
- 1/4 Teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup green olives (diced)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 60 g butter
- 1/2 Cup cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
Preparation:
- Preheat your oven and line up a baking tray with a grease-proof baking sheet.
- In a bowl, mix all your dry ingredients and the butter.
- Add the milk to the mixture and combine into a soft dough.
- Leave the dough to rest for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and cut into round shapes. You can use a cutter or a glass to do so.
- Place the scones on the baking tray and brush the tops with milk.
- Bake for 25/30 minutes at 160C or according to your oven.
Tips:
- You can choose any cheese combination.
- You can use plain white flour only or combine white flour and wholemeal flour instead of Atta Flour. The choice is yours.
