Zoli Brunch at Eat With Fingers Restaurant
If you’re following me on social media, you have probably seen my stories about the Zoli Brunch at Eat With Fingers. So what’s this all about?
The Zoli Brunch is an annual event held by the Zoli Bloguettes community, a group of women bloggers. The founder is Tasha who had this awesome idea of reuniting all women bloggers in the country under 1 group.
I have been a member of the group for over a year and as a food blogger, it’s always a pleasure to meet other bloggers. I got to chat with many of them on Facebook and I also attended a workshop, early this year but this brunch is what I have really been looking forward! I finally got to meet many of these awesome ladies. Our sponsors for the event spoiled us with loads of goodies.
From food bloggers like myself to lifestyle, makeup bloggers and more,it was a great experience. And what made it even more exciting was that it was held at Eat With Fingers, a vegan restaurant in Chemin Vingt Pieds, Grand Bay! It was a first for me and I loved every moment.
Daphne, Sarah and I met up at La Croisette before heading there and we were warmly welcomed by Tasha, Davina, Geraldine (the owner and chef) and Laurie. We were all awed by the decor!
It was all zen and cozy and the plants brought life to the interiors. There was a laid back atmosphere which I really enjoyed and some very original deco ideas. We were already snapping pictures and giggling. Trust me, this place is insta-worthy!
Our table was cute as ever and we had tons of goodies waiting for us! Who doesn’t love gifts? Our sponsors had tons of great surprises waiting for us in our brand-new Zoli Bloguettes Tote Bags designed by @grafitag_prod.
Soon, most of us have arrived and we sat by our table and started to talk a bit about ourselves and what we do. Of course, we recognised each other when we mentioned our blogs. We also got to learn about Geraldine, our lovely host who delighted us with her warmth and her amazing dishes.
We started to chat and mingle, taking pictures and sipping our drinks. I opted for the Non-Alcoholic Sangria which I enjoyed and then we nibbled on toast with either tomato and basilic pesto.
Meanwhile, Geraldine slipped off to the kitchen and came back to prepare the Veggie sticks in dip jars right in front of us. The hummus was homemade and I could see that everything was fresh and you could see that Geraldine was right in her element.
Prior to the cooking workshop, I took this shot of Geraldine, the owner of Eat With Fingers Restaurant and Tasha, the founder of Zoli Bloguettes. Tasha is also known in Mauritius as the blogger, The Lovely Brunette.
Time flew by quickly and soon, we were ready for the next activity, the vegan cooking workshop! We learned to prepare Pizza using vegetables and other vegan ingredients. For the base, we used tortilla wraps. I got to try the vegan cheese which I liked a lot as it had this nice fruity taste but what surprised me was the vegan ham which smelled like ham and tasted almost like real ham. I need to hunt for this at the supermarket!
Soon our pizza wraps were in the oven we were ready to devour them. The vegan cheese melted just like dairy cheese and I really enjoyed discovering these new products.
We were very full and Geraldine still had more for us to try; the vegan lasagna which we decided to take home. Most of us brought our Tupperware in case.
One of the cutest moments was when Tasha asked whether we wanted to have the Banana Oreo Smoothie or the Signature Homemade Brownies and we all yelled, “Browniiiiiiies!!!!!!” I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between this signature homemade vegan brownie and the dairy brownie that I’m used to having. Some of us finished with either tea or coffee while I stuck to my Non-Alcoholic Sangria (I probably developed an addiction to that).
I really enjoyed this event where I got to meet fellow bloggers but also discovered Eat With Fingers and vegan cuisine! What really touched me was the positive energy that resonated throughout the event and the friendly and cozy atmosphere. Our blogging community is an exceptional one and I’m very proud to be a Zoli Bloguette!
