We Tried…The Hello Food Surprises Breakfast Bag
Hey Foodies! I’m super excited about this week’s post as I’m going to tell you about this cool surprise bag I received from Hello Food Surprises. I also filmed a video about unboxing (unpacking is a better word technically) my box to discover new products. My video is a little blurry but I have included pictures so you can see what’s in there.
The concept:
Hello Food Surprises is a unique concept in Mauritius. The idea is that you can purchase one of these bags which comes with a set of food items and accessories. Hello Food Surprises works with both local and international brands. The items are packed in a cute eco-friendly bag which you can reuse. Hello Food Surprises delivers at specific pick-up points and you can check their Facebook page to find out more about their delivery.
Hello Food Surprises aims to promote local brands mostly and offers many organic products.
There are different bags for different price ranges and they are divided in 3 categories:
- Breakfast Bags
- Pasta Bags
- Dessert Bags
You can find more details about the prices and the products offered on the Facebook page of Hello Food Surprises.
Discovering My Surprise Bag
As soon as I received my breakfast bag, I was really eager to find what’s inside. First, my bag looked very packed and absolutely adorable. The design and colors are very reflective of our islander lifestyle. I think that it’s a great idea to use a bag as you will always reuse it, especially when it’s as gorgeous as this one.
I never tried the products I received in my Hello Food Surprise bag before and I think that’s what makes the beauty of Hello Food Surprises. You get to discover new brands which you may never hear of and try new things. It must be noted that the contents of the bag can be different but that’s also part of the surprise bag concept. You’re being introduced to new products or flavors every time!
Like I said earlier, I received a breakfast bag and it included the following products:
A Whole Pitted Dried Dates pack from Neofood: which is organic and vegan. I’m going to use it in my cereals for sure!
A Super Raw Bar from Vitalia: which contains only fruits, nuts and seeds. A healthy snack which I couldn’t resist to try. I really liked it!
A pack of mixed dried fruits from On The Go. I used it in my cereals mainly and finished it pretty quickly.
Mini corn cakes from Bakali,: another snack that I shared with my family and they finished very quickly. A great alternative to chips and its gluten-free!
Coconut Flour by Neofoods: I haven’t had the time to use this yet but I’ll write an update when I do. I do have ideas for recipes though.
A Chamomile/Lavender teabag from the English Tea Shop. I drank this after a heavy breakfast the next day and I loved the taste. I usually go by mint infusions but this was a nice change. Actually I had no idea this was inside until I checked again…another food surprise lol.
What do I think about it
It’s a great concept and you do have a variety of bags at different prices. I feel that they make nice gifts, especially because they can introduce people to new products and brands and it’s nicely packaged. The tote bag is another plus point for me. Its environmental-friendly and you can always use it as a shopping bag. The quality is top-notched.
