Homemade Peanut Butter
True story: I used to be one of those people who simply couldn’t stand store-bought peanut butter. The texture, the taste, the added ingredients – none of it appealed to me. I never imagined it would become a staple in my kitchen. That is, until curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to try to make my own peanut butter.
Why Homemade Peanut Butter Tastes Better?
The magic happens when you taste it. Homemade peanut butter has an incredible richness, a deep, authentic peanut flavor. With just the minimal amount of oil needed to bind it, you achieve a remarkably satisfying, smooth, and thick consistency.
My process for this easy peanut butter recipe is simple. I start by grilling peanuts in the oven. Once cooled, a spin in my grinder until I get that powdery texture. Then, with just a tiny drizzle of oil, it all comes together into a nice spreadable butter. This is truly the best homemade peanut butter.

Delicious Ways to Enjoy Your Homemade Peanut Butter
This isn’t just for toast anymore! I top my morning oatmeal with a generous dollop. It elevates any simple cake or even a wholesome, energy-boosting healthy snack. For a quick and perfect treat, try pairing it with banana or apple slices. It’s a good combo.
Top Reasons to Make Your Own Peanut Butter
If you’re still thinking whether to make your own peanut butter, here are good reasons why it deserves a spot in your pantry:
- You control how much oil goes in, ensuring you get pure natural peanut butter.
- Free from unnecessary additives, preservatives, or artificial flavors.
- You know exactly what you are putting.
- It’s surprisingly cheap to make and keeps well in an air-tight jar.
- The process is straightforward, even more so if you opt for pre-roasted peanuts, making it an easy peanut butter recipe for anyone.
- Rich in protein and healthy fats
You can season yours with honey or salt or even some chocolate powder.
Ingredients
Method
- Transfer your roasted peanuts to your food processor (or blender if its powerful enough). Blend until it turns like powder.
- Once you reached a fine powdery consistency, add your oil. (Avoid oils with strong flavours because your peanut butter will taste weird)
- Blend again till it forms a paste. You can season at this stage with salt or honey if you wish. Personally, I don’t feel the need to add any seasoning. Transfer in an air-tight jar.
