Chocolate & Avocado Mousse

This sounds like the weirdest combination ever but it actually works!  This vegan/vegetarian friendly dessert is surprisingly easy to prepare and requires just a few ingredients.  It’s also a guilt-free treat and the taste of avocado is almost unnoticeable in this dessert!

Ingredients:

  • 200g Dark Chocolate
  • 1 large ripe Avocado
  • 1/3 Cup Full fat milk or 1/3 cup coconut milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Cocoa powder
  • Sugar or Honey (Optional)

Preparation:

  1.  Melt the dark chocolate in your microwave or in a bowl over boiling water.  Stir until all the chocolate is melted.  Leave to cool.
  2. In your blender, scoop the flesh of the avocado, add the milk and cocoa powder.  Blend until it forms a smooth and fluffy texture.
  3. Pour the mixture over the dark chocolate and stir until it is well-combined.
  4. Add sugar or honey gradually according to your taste.  (In my case, I found that I did not need any)
  5. Pour the chocolate mousse into individual small dessert bowls and store in your fridge for 4 hours or overnight.
